An accelerated psychology degree program online can lead to a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Master of Arts in Psychology, or a similar degree such as a bachelor’s in psychology and counseling. Just like in a traditional on-campus psychology program, courses are designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of human behavior. Courses are often taught one or two at a time at an accelerated pace, rather than in full semester format. While some programs are offered fully online, others are blended with hands-on training that may include specific in-person requirements, depending on the program.
Many of these programs are offered through private, Christian colleges. They do not prepare graduates for licensure as psychologists. Instead, they are designed for students interested in working in the Christian ministry or in other fields where an in-depth knowledge of human behavior could be useful, such as public administration, social services, public relations, education or health care.
Depending upon the degree level and focus, Accelerated Psychology Degree students might take courses such as:
This flexible curriculum consists of 35 credit hours of required and elective coursework, plus a practicum.
